Another ABS question

My ABS came on like it has every other time I needed a new Alternator, then soon after the battery light. (has never made since to me why the battery light doesn't come on first when the alternator dies). Checked the voltage on the odometer and sure enough the alternator was not charging. Swapped the alternator and everything is back to normal except the dumb ABS light. It will not go out. Checked for codes and it says none are stored.

Does anyone know what causes the ABS light to come on yet not record a code??

Thanks

What happens if you press the clear codes button? I'm on my 3rd alternator and have never seen the ABS light come on. The battery light always comes on first. Strange how our 02's act so different.

When I cleared the codes the light went out and came back on after about 2 seconds. The only code was 1211 which is normal. After the light came back on I checked it again and it said there were no codes.

Are any of the numbers that are displayed on the odometer during the test mode codes?

This is my 4th alternator and every one has triggered the ABS light first and then the battery light comes on a little later. Bad thing is once they come on you better not shut it down. The voltage is too low to restart at that point.
