Just spent an enjoyable afternoon with the fatfendered one... Yup THE DEWAYNE made a special detour trip out of his way to come for a visit...
tell me I'm not living right !
He didn't really show it but I know he was suitable impressed with my several piles of parts, even after having to climb over one pile to look at another...
He's now tooling north on I-65 making his way back to I-O-Way where his family is anxiously waiting his arrival... unless they are at the Walmart...
Glad you had a good visit! He's threatening to come examine my piles of parts soon, too. I think he's scoping out a new cab for a mutual friend on the way home as well. The man gets around - I'll give him that!
yea he was on a cab mission but I think he's missed his connection with the owner... unless they hooked up after he left here... He just called and said he was in Nashville, in clear weather and hammer down... spending one more nite on the road then home sweet home... I know he's ready for his own bed..
I had a very nice visit with John and Peg. Anyone in the area should visit his internet famous pile-o-Effie. I got into this hobby after viewing John's truck on a net search about ten years ago. Thanks John, I think you owe me at least $20K man
As many of you recall John did a volare-ectomy a few years ago and installed the MII in it's place. I thought there would be some serious scarring from the procedure. All I can say is wow. The workmanship is incredible. It looks like it left Ford with the MII. No it looks waaay better than any factory frame of any type. It is modified stronger and ready for gloss paint if he chooses. I wouldn't have a second thought of running it down a dragstrip. His sheetmetal is better than what I started with for sure. Now put the damn thing together John before you get too old and we have to pull your license. It's gonna be a sweet ride.
Nice to be home from Ft Rucker. Affectionately known as "Mother Rucker" by Army Warrant Officers. I really enjoyed the tropical storm too.
And regarding the cab in St Louis. It was in my driveway when he finally called and asked if I could stop by in a couple hours. Uh, no, I just drove a thousand miles. Going to try to get back down there next week. The owner is in the hospital for another day or so. I think we are going to have a good cab for Earl finally. Hopefully another wagon load of other stuff too. That appears to be a VERY good find 'rage. Wife and I will be coming to see you soon. I have at most two more chances to blow up my Mustang before the track closes. Then we'll make plans.
4Speed,
There arent many of us left that remember Dewaynes (fatfenders) COOTIEBOBBIN days. For those who dont know, Fatfenders truck was painted and repainted and flames added, and flames removed, and scallops, and all red, and yellow added, and then all red again etc..........
Cool.....I will be heading south asap.
My buddy is in Mississippi and then I have to head to Pensacola. I will have a trailer, and maybe you can load me again....LOL LOL.......THANKS
