Hey guys, I had to take my lift off because maryland laws suck! I am running a leveling kit, 20" BMF's and 35" toyos.
as I am going down the road id i love the wheele back and forth a little i get a "body roll" feeling, like i am about to tip over, worse then what my 8" lift did. Does anyone know what causes this? worn out shocks? ect.
I dont know what to look at, everythings tight and tires are brand new, the only tink I am thinking is shocks, but want some opinions before I spend 400$ on shocks if that wasnt the cause.
I just happened to think about one of the members on here (I forget which one) had one of his front leaf springs crack. I don't know if that is it or not, can't hurt to check. I'm just throwing out ideas here. I don't know exactly what could be causing it either.
What leveling kit did you go with? Also, did you change your track bar back to the OEM? Could be bad shocks, cracked springs, and other things. Make sure your U bolts are torqued down right and centered. Sounds like you spring pack may be allowing you axle to float too much. Try pushing on you bumper from the side and see what moves. Should sit solid.
Subscribing. I sometimes feel like my truck has more "sway" on it now then it did with my old tires and shocks.
Old tires were 275/70/17 8 ply goodyear silent armours, shocks were the ranchos that came with the truck.
New tires 295/70/19 toyo open country mt 10 plys, shocks are the yellow and blue bilsteins.
sorry guys, dog ate my internet wire, had to borow dads laptop.
I have no idea what brand leveling kit it is, came on the truck when i bought it, the shocks are the ranchos that also came with the truck when I bought it.
I dont see any cracks in the springs, as I had to add a few peices to them that we took off when we added the lift, that big thick bottom spring in the rear, I painted the shocks black when i re installed them and dont see anythng leaking, but could be all leaked out?
The U bolts arent tourqued but i got them as tight as i possibly could, air impact and a breaker bar.
are you running lift blocks in the front springs for leveling? If you are unning the same springs now as you did when you had the lift, then that would eliminate the springs as the guilty player. If you installed lift blocks under the front springs, then that could cause unstability in the front. You say you get a lot of body roll.....does it seem to be coming from the front or the rear. (typically, if it is comming from the front, it will seem to "dive" when you turn. if it is comming from the rear, it will feel as if the rear wants to swing around the front). Go back and re-check the ubolts. They will loosen up after being installed and a few miles. It really sounds like loose ubolts to me.
STROKEN,
I am wondering if you found the problem to the truck sway. I am haveing the same problem but my truck is basicly stock just a leveling kit and 285/75/r16E tires. i have replaced the swaybar bushing front and back, steering ger box, tyrod end, front end lignment, I really dont know where to go from here and I cant just through money at it any moore.
