Weird 4wd problem, any ideas?
Hello Everyone,
I was driving my 2002 f-350 4x4 on the highway going about 75mph and the 4wd randomly engaged. It has the digital **** switch so I checked to make sure I didnt bump it and it was in 2wd, but the truck was in 4wd and the indicator light was on. I stopped and switched it a few times from 2wd to 4wd and back and restarted the truck and the problem seems to be fixed. Have any of you heard of this before? Any ideas on what could cause it? or how to prevent it from happening again?

It sounds like your 4X4 control switch is bad... try blowing compressed air into the switch then spray a little WD-40 on the switch. If that doesn't work, then you may have to replace the switch.
