While my F150 has been good a reliable its hard on gas in the city were I do 99.5% of my driving. So I'm looking to see if downsizing would be worth it.
I need 4wd, LSD, V6, Auto, A/C, and a min towing cap of 5,000 lbs
So I ask what year of Ranger is considered the best overall given my needs?
P.S I should note I'm only pricing at the moment if that makes any difference.
If your primary concern is mileage go on the Ford website and compare the various setups.
I believe that the 4.0 4x4 might only get slightly better mileage than the F-150 but the site would be your best source.
If you need the 4wd and you need the 5000lb towing capacity, you're prob not going to save any money by going to a 4.0 Ranger. They get marginally better fuel economy on the highway, but in city driving and/or towing a large load, you won't notice any diff at all in mpg.
The 4.0 Rangers will tow just fine, but so does your F150.
