Well apparently Im way upside down. Good thing I love my truck and had no problem walking away. I was offered 18K for trade in... and its close to 55K to replace it, no thanks...
BTW that puts me about 12K to the negative.

$18k offer, plus $12k to the negative? Are you saying you owe $30k on an '06? Wow, that sucks, Todd!!!
NEVER and I mean NEVER trade your truck into a dealer. You will get screwed everytime.
When I'm looking to buy a new truck I let the dealer give me a trade in price and then sell it for about 5K more than that. In fact, I've sold my last 2 SD's to my subs who know how good they've been taken care of. Both of those trucks are still working every day.
Most '06's around here are going for around 30K so if you want to get out of it sell it privately.
The used truck market is kind of funny right now. I paid $35K for my truck, brand new out the door including taxes. KBB says it's worth $37,680 in a private sale, $32,000 to a trade.
So, for almost the first time in my life, I'm not upside down! Even though it's only 6 months old...must be time to trade and get something else!
I'm a long ways away from upside down in mine... shop smart And I agree with never trading a rig in at the dealer, they take every opportunity to screw you out of money on your trade and jack the price of theirs up... pisses me off. I once had a dealer knock my truck down on trade value because it needed washed!
Well,,Atleast I am not upside down with my 06', six-O,,still owe in the mid teens,,for it,,almost 47k miles,,,she runs great,,,never an issue,,,good to know I could sell it,,,If I had too for mid to upper $20's !
I doubt it as well, we officially got $17,500 for our '05 F350 I figured they'd try and sell it for mid to high $20K's. The next week it was listed for $19,888, needs new tires and some touch up paint in a few spots and was still under the powertrain warranty. Our '09 F450 was under $30K new. I think if we held on to the truck for who knows how many months waiting countless hours for tire kickers we may have gotten $19K but it was not worth that time to get $1500 more.
i got mine when diesel was $5 a gallon (two years ago) and was out the door under $17k truck had 80k and was loaded. in the past month a guy at work just bought a amarillo edition 06 with 46k for $34k. then my sisters bf bought a 07 with 80k for $22k both trucks were ccswb 4x4s and the amarillo edt was lifted and needs new 37's..... the 06 was well over priced the guy is just a idiot.... for that money he could have bought a new one. the 07 was a decent buy. according to the book my truck is worth about what i paid for it. im no where near upside down but i doubt ill get close to book for it..
pretty sure its worth more then i paid thou.. i bought this truck just before the economy went in the crapper, so my truck was selling for cheap cuz it werent a diesel when everyone still wanted diesels..but with the current truck market being what it is used trucks went up prolly 5K$ at least from where they were when i was shopping...
but im not letting go on my girl...to replace it with anything else would cost me to much and i really wouldnt be getting anything that much different..
sure i luv the new sheetmetal and interiors, but at the end of the day the trucks still basicly the same from the drivers seat...
Dont feel bad I owe $28K on my 06. KBB private sale is right at $30K, weather or not it would bring that I dunno, but I LOVE my truck, I can live with the $595 payments so its all good. I was $9K upside down when I traded my previous vehicle for my current, but put $5K cash down so I still had $4K roll over onto my current truck. I also bought my truck a good bit befor ethe truck market took a huge dump. I looked into buying a new '09 awhile back and they offered me $20K for my truck I told them thanks for your time I keep my beloved 6.0
i have no idea what my truck is worth..
cuz im not selling it.
Yeah buddy. Only thing I'm worried about is someone jacking it, the insurance company saying its only worth $15k, when used ones exactly like it are selling for $25k.
Edit: Blue Book for mine is $31k in a private party sale apparently.
