one last code to check into.code 67,book says improper signals are being recieved from either neutral drive switch, neutral gear switch, neutral pressure switch, manual lever position,or a.c. clutch.should i worry about thsi one?what should i check first, and how?any and all help would be great. thanks
I believe the neutral drive/gear/pressure switch are essentially the same thing. They should all be located on the transmission near the gear linkage but I can't provide you with an exact location. Check to make sure the connection is tight and free of dirt and grime. If that's not it, the switch itself is probably bad and I don't know how it can be tested if at all.
i found the spot, but wires or plug to go into the connector on the tranny.i have a np-435 4 speed/granny.what color are the wires? i'd like to be able to trace the wires and find or got a plug. hea, rla2005.what is a MLPS? i assume the last 2 are pressure switch, but what are the first 2? are they manual lever? thanks for any and all help.
Manual Lever Position Sensor. They are used on auto transmissions to tell the PCM what position the gear selector is in. All the DTC error code 67s I have dealt with were on cars/trucks with automatic transmissions. I assumed yours was the same....
Since yours is a manual, DTC 67 indicates a problem with the neutral safety switch circuit if it is an error in Continuous Memory and/or KOEO. If the error occurs during the KOER tests it indicates the A/C was on during the KOER tests.
yea i got the code durring the KOEO test, code 11 on the continous ,which means all ok. i'll check into the neutral safty switch.where is that switch? thanks for the help.
Details about the truck would be helpful. Year, engine, transmission should always be in the first post, then we don't have to ask.
If you have a six cylinder, the clutch needs to be pushed in during the KOEO test, which it sounds like you didn't do. As long as you aren't able to start the truck with your foot off the clutch your neutral safety switch is fine.
thanks ANDYM.i did what you said and it worked.the book doesn't say to do that.i now have code 11 on both KOEO and continuous codes.now all i have to do is the KOER TEST.THANKS
