Code 67
Code 67
89' Bronco XLT 5.0 AOD. Pulled 67-10-11 on reader during a KOEO test today. It says Code 67 is Neutral Drive Switch (NDS) circuit failure, circuit open; or A/C input high. When I try to run the KOER test, the car starts to test, and the stops the test immedietly. Leads me to think the computer doesn't think the truck is in Park/Neutral. Could it be the A/C (totally shot, needs complete overhaul)? Is there NDS on these Broncos? I know of the Neutral Saftey Switch. Or is it the A/C and the KOER is unrelated? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
The AOD has the neutral safety switch, driver's side. Might be the connection, might be loose corroded.
How's the truck running? Or will it even start?
Sorry it took so long to get an answer, we're all busy with more relevant posts.

Ok, first off, there is no such thing as Code 10. EEC-IV codes begin with the "system pass" code 11.
On your truck Code 67 means at least one of two things occurred during the KOEO test. The air conditioning/ heat controls were not OFF and/or the NDS circuit was open indicating that the transmission was either not in a non-moving gear or there is a problem between the computer (PCM, ECA call it what you like) and the NDS. If the voltage at pin 30 of the computer is greater than 1VDC, check the NDS wiring and replace the NDS if the wiring has no issues. If the voltage at pin 30 is LESS than 1VDC check the voltage at pin 10. If THIS voltage is is greater than 1VDC you have a short in the wiring to the air conditioner clutch. If the voltage at pin 10 is LESS than 1VDC the computer is suspect however this is an extremely rare occurrence.

The "10" appears during KOER to indicate the start of the WOT test.
