Is there a way to change the color of a 74 F250 dash board? Or do I need to change out the dash for a new one? My dash is in excellent condition but it is brown. I would like to paint my truck but would like to use a different color than brown. I would like a black dash.
Well you d do both. I know fr sure LMC makes dashboards but my guess is places like bronco graveyard do as well and for a lot cheaper.
Then you can always find a correct type of paint. You would need some kind of auto paint or outdoor paint that can stand to be in the sun and is durable enough to resist wear. not a big paint guy so I xcouldn't tell you.

If you're referring to the "dash pad" and not the actual steel dash console panel, you have a few different options to consider.
a) Spray it with a can of aerosol spray dye as jtapal suggested. The stuff works, for a while. It'll eventually start fading in the sun and the brown will show through. Or you can spray it with multiple light coats of satin black spray paint. "Dust" it each time and reapply when the previous coat dries until you're satisfied with the finish. Again, it might not last long until it starts cracking or fading.
b) Buy a brand new dash pad from LMC for $250
c) Buy a dash pad cover from LMC for $75 (maybe it's more than that?)
d) Take the dash pad to an automotive upholsterer and see if they can wrap the pad in a material that looks similar to your headliner (I've seen it done with good results)
I'd recommend the the dash pad cover. It won't crack or fade like the OEM pads did, nor like a sprayed-on finish, it's relatively cheap in comparison to a whole new dash pad, and you can't even tell it's there. Just take out your brown pad, spray it down with adhesive, stick the cover on, and you're done.
