Freezing rain here in the northeast panhandle. Would rather have snow. Wasn't quite ready for this though, wasn't through planting wheat, had some hay in the field and milo to cut. Oh well, that's life in the farming world. Sure beats last year when we didn't get enough moisture to get the wheat up. Total crop failure. It's tough to loose your whole years paycheck. Most farmers bet the whole thing every year. Who needs Las Vegas?
I hear ya, we lost quite a few cattle during the drought. It's a tough unapreciated life, like trucking, but somebody's gotta do it. I'd like to see all them city folks get around with out us for acouple years, maybe then we'd get the recognition we deserve. Or at least maybe folks would wave as they pass us in our tractors instead of honk and throw the finger.
Oops, sorry for that. Dont know where it came from.
I heard it snowed up in Amarillo. It's been raining for 2 days straight here in Levelland. (that's by Lubbock) I've never been in farming or anything but I dated a guy that stripped cotton and when I wasn't at work or in class, I was sitting in the stripper with him. I don't flip farmers off just like I don't flip truckers off becuase I dated a trucker too. I think it's alot along the lines of, no one knows what it's really like unless they do it or know someone who does. Hey, anyone that knows someone who collects tractors, send them my way. My dad has an old model M IH with shredder, disks, planter, sand fighter and some other stuff I didn't mess with too. Only problem with it is it needs a new radiator.

Hey, that's cool. Feel free to email me anything you find out. Yes or no either way. I don't know what he's asking but we've got about a tractor and a half. Dad's done some work to it but I was too young to understand much of anything that was going on besides the fact I got sprayed with oil... It is rusted but you can still tell it was red. My email is ford4life69(No Email Addresses In Posts!) or yahoo.com or hotmail.com ...
Thanx!

Well I just got back from a weekend trip home and I see what you guys are talking about...I didn't see the sun all weekend and it rained every day. But it was still great to be back home. I kept an eye out for Krosati's and Jen's trucks while I was in Col Station but I never saw'em.
Yeah, Jim, a lot of farmers up here in central Alberta are sharing your sentiments about that white stuff. We had a real screwy year here with not getting our spring rains until late July, too late for most crops given our shorter growing season. Pretty interesting seeing canola in full bloom in september. About twenty-five percent of the crop here is still standing or laying swathed with a light coat of snow. Makes for a distinct lack of business at this johnny popper dealer I'm sellin' parts for.
Hey knightshield, I asked in another forum where you were located. Now I find out that we're about 60 miles apart. I'm in Perryton. We had a car show this weekend in spite of the wet weather. Good little show, indoors, had about 50 entries. Needed some trucks. We had my 66 Ranger, 72 Ranger 4x4, a 46 1/2 ton with a Chxxx motor, and a Doxxx Ram. Lots of cars. We will do it again next year about this time.

I hope you didn't see my truck, It's still in the garage in pieces. But if you break out the Jon boat and troll up my street, you'll see the chassis sitting in the driveway.
I roomed with someone from Perryton in college. She's back down here now but she spent the summer up there with her boyfriend or whatever he is. She drives a 76 Comet, she knows nothing about cars, and thinks that I know everything on how to fix it. She wanted me to go with her one time but I had other stuff to do. I've been to Pampa though....
