Cheezit, ?

P2285 = STC fitting, ICP sensor or what?
2005 F-350 not mine, hooked up to 5er, shut down to set rig up. Went to start truck and crank but no start. Pulled ICP connector and still no start. STC, HPOP what's your guess with this info. Batteries are all up to snuff. Thanks in advace.

P2285 is an icp circuit code which you may have set when you unplugged the icp sensor trying to get it to start.

I can assume the truck was warmed up when you shut it down to hook up, if you have a scan tool, monitor icp pressure while cranking, if its never had the stc fitting installed then you may have a slow leak presenting when the vehicle is hot or a leak in one of the rails under the valve covers.

p2285 is most common to be a connector issue. this code can be made by disconnecting the icp sensor as well would need to look at icpv koeo to find out if its biased but if so unpluging it would have set it to default and it would have started. also If the 5 volts to the connector was shorting to the signal return you would get the p2285 and no start as well
BUT....I would do an air pressure test of the high pressure oil system. suspect cut block off oring or stc.

I was on a trip to Mt. Rushmore and my 2004 6.0 did the exact same thing! Believe it or not it ended up being the CPS (cam position sensor). I cranked and cranked and it never would even try to start! Had to get it towed on the flat bed to the dealer!

Thanks for all the replies and pm from cheezit. The problem was an improperly installed fuse in the ICP ckt. I think my buddy did it by accident working on some new lights. He said he checked all the fuses and that they were good so I never checked them. Cost him $184 for the dealer to find it. In their, dealers, defense they did do diagnostics on all his systems afterwards since he was leaving on a week long trip.
