Please Help
I have a 92 Ford F150 4x4 with 5.0 E40D .
I can't afford to rebuild it, so I want to swap it but I can not find a E40D that I can afford.
Is there another trans I can use? C6 or ADO or C5
Please help I need a transmission
Thanks so much for your help and time
I have a line on a Cheap rebuilt C6 out of a 90 Bronco.
Will it bolt up and just need a longer drive line and weld up some brackets to fit install the shorter trans,

just done this swap myself. the front driveshaft will be shortened and the rear extended. my frame has factory holes for the crossmember to bolt up in the c6 location. you will need the mpls and sol pack from the e40d for the truck to start and not throw a code light.
Were the extra parts needed to make the swap costly ??
Is there anything else I need to know.?? I am going to work on swapping the transmissions today.
Thanks again
the mpls switch and sol pack can be used from your e40d. just unbolt the pan and take out the sol pack. the mpls is on the side where the shifter is. set it in the netural position and you should be good to go. the olny thing i forgot is you will need to buy a universal kickdown cable kit. im going to the barn tonight to finish my lift. ill see if i can take some pics of the shift linkage for you.
