Ahh, the clearance lights revisited.
Here is what happened back then.
For some reason, Ford apparently was going to offer clearance lights on the Excursion when it first came out. But the idea was dropped before the vehicle went to sale. However, the paperwork, like order sheets, Sales books, and brochures showed it as a option for the 2000 year. I suspect it was a internal snafu of some kind.
This set up people wanting and asking about factory clearance lights for years. It is only natural for us to think that since the Super Duties had them, why not the Excursion.
The paperwork confused everyone. Here is an example: Page 112 of the Ford upfitters book showing the dimensions. Look and you will see the clearance lights on the drawing.
