Adding Over Drive

I have a 1973 2wd 302 with a c4 trans. The trans is acting up so I was thinking about going with an over drive. Has any one done this or is there some one out there selling a conversion kit.

Being 2wd your options are easy. Pick up an AOD from any full size car, mustang, etc and drop it in. Troubles are over.

You would need to use the trans controller from teh donor vehicle. Sorry if I was too vague, I've done so many conversions over the years that I just assume everyone knows the little stuff.

Another option that some may frown on is the use of a Gm 700R-4 trans via an adapter plate. No electronics needed other than a switch for the lockup, this can be a toggle or a $50 TCI vacuum controlled switch. Either way an adapter plate and a 700R-4 would be a very simple, easy swap that would leave you without a clutter of computer, wires, etc.
