All you younger guys with teenage sons, listen up! There's a light at the end of the tunnel! One of my 3 sons is handing down his car to me! That's a real switch. I have to buy it but he's making me a very generous deal.
It's a '94 Mustang GT, last of the 5.0's, and over the years he's loaded it with goodies -- Eibach springs, sway bars, camber plates, Corbeau seats, and some very nice wheels/tires. About all it needs is a new heater core (ugly job), clutch cable, and some paint repairs. It's a fun ride!
I've an '06 Subaru Impreza WRX.
They're fast cars.
The major drawback is with tire replacement.
Because of the all wheel drive Subaru recommends replacing all four tires at once.
Ouch!
Very cool, Ross! I've had a few of those over the years, including a '94 GT convert and a '95 Cobra. They are a blast. Enjoy! Just as an FYI, though, '95 was the last year for the 5.0.
That's great. Congrats. I love those Stangs. Its a good all around platform with tons of durability and more aftermarket support than the F1 truck--hard to believe but true I suspect. Aftermarket support that is. They make everything for those Mustangs. Sometimes I wish I had one.
So your son's going Suburu. I've never been in one, but I see'm around, and they appear to handle "great" and are super fast in many cases.
He'll do good.
Heater core!! Oh my aching back and sore shoulders. I need an Alleve just hearing about it.
I just sold my 95 Mustang GT convertible. It had 153,000 miles on the 5.0 v-8(sorry, I had to do that ). It was still running strong, but I bought a new 2010 Equinox, and I have too many toys, so it had to go. I sure do miss that car, but it sold to a local guy, so I see it around town once in awhile. The last time it passed me, he had done something to the exhaust. Have fun!
