While I'm waiting on my scanner and air filter from Clay I removed my bench seat from my '99 f250XL CC. I wanted some comfort so I'm replacing them with '99 Excursion bucket seats with a console. I thought it would be a direct bolt in but I had to swap the mounting plates off of the bench to the bucket seats. I could only do one seat. I'll have to get another set of mounting plates off of another bench seat to complete the swap. I'm hoping the console bolts right in.
There are four bolts that hold the console in (you should be able to see the 4 holes in the bottom of the console on the inside) and there is some type of nut in the floor. You will probably have to lift up the carpet to check for the nuts, or there may be cutouts in the carpet already.
No carpet in this truck. It's an XL, a no frills model. Had to cut the mat to find the mounting holes(not threaded) for the seats. I'll have to do the same thing to mount the console. Were bucket seats with a separate center console factory in any trucks or was this feature only in the Excursions?
Well with the help of my girlfriend the whole interior was stripped(floor mat, back seat) and throughly cleaned(HER IDEA). The console took some measuring and drilled 4 holes and was in. The ashtray is now blocked by the console but I don't smoke. The passenger side seat bolted right in with the bench seat brackets. The drivers side electric seat had to have all 4 mounting holes drilled as none of the existing holes lined up. I hooked up pwr from the battery and the seat was alive!!! yea!!! Now I have more comfort ie. arm rest, reclining backs, 4 cup holders. Not a bad deal for $106.00. Now to get this beast running. Its had less than 50 miles put on since '06.
