well folks, it does exist. so anyone trying to convert to a 350 double cardon driveshaft, i have the part number direct from spicer. it works as i just finished it up tonight. test drive went well as i always enjoy thrashign the truck in deep mud! i will take pictures tomarrow in the daylight and post the box with part number as well.
Not sure if we're all talking about the same joints, maybe we are, idk. I was refering to the size of u-joints in the front double cardon driveshaft. I know the rear driveshaft has 1350s.
the joints on our trucks are 1330's. the 1310 is too small. it appears the wife decided to keep the camera in her purse so i am stuck on pics til she comes home later on.
the joint was about 75 bucks, i will get the receipt out to get the breakdown. took 3 days to order it in.
well unfortuantly the wife has had the camera captive all weekend...something about daughter and cheerleading competitions....lol the part number for the yoke is 2-4-5441 straight from spicer. the only issue i ran into is the old yoke's splines are somewhat flatnosed and the new yoke's are more of a point. its not a huge difference but it was enough to make it a pita to get on. i would almost reccomend filing on them a little bit to flatten them out some for ease of install or you could just take my angle and smack it on while laying on your back upside down in the mud, in the dark with a flashlight in your front teeth shivering your **** off......lol either way it does work and i am tickled pink to have 4wd that doesnt make any noises or bind up!
no, i converted to a cv style double cardon driveshaft from an f-350. in doing so you have to have the matching t-case yoke. the 250's use the straps on the joints and the holes in the yokes do not match. the 350 yoke was discontinued from ford 5 years ago and everything online says there are no yokes being manufactured. i got discouraged and went to my local driveshaft shop and they called spicer direct and they said they have no idea where people are getting that info, they have plenty of them. my shop oredered 2, one for me and one for on their shelf.
the guy on psn is at a stand still for now as his machine shop needs some special machine to finish them, plus they will cost about 130 bucks plus shipping and he will only have 15 made. the oem from spicer is 70 bucks
SAAAWWWEEEEEETT!
I spoke with the guy fron PSN and he has over 100 orders. Maybe we need to let them in on the secret. Maybe have your local driveshaft guy do it and he can make a killing.
LOL
So when I swap in the D60 and I will need the 350 drive shaft due to length, I now have a good fix.
I did my D60 swap almost exactly 2 years ago and got that part from PowerStrokeShop.com.
Part number #F5TZ7B214B, I just checked and they list them for $89.
