WoW!!! I never thought for a minute that there would be so many folks from Texas reply to this roll call. It's nice to be surrounded by folks in my neck of the woods who share an interest. I sure wish I could meet all of you someday. Who knows, there may be an event in our future as big and nationally recognized as Pigeone Forge but held right here in Texas!
Hey, a while back I suggested that the ppl in the surrounding area of B/CS should meet up at like a park and meet. Or we could do dinner somewhere. It really would be cool to meet everyone!! Maybe we could get this thing goin?
Argyle Texas (10 min south of Denton)
16 yrs old w/ a '79 F-150 XLT long bed(302 2bbl, c4, 2.75 9"). Mostly stock and mostly original although that's fixin to change when I rebuild the engine sometime next summer.
I'm close to anyone in the North Dallas/Fort Wort area (I heard, Plano, Coppell, McKinney, Allen, Aubrey, The colony, etc mentioned and I'm close to all of those).
ECONODRAG: I too have run at sanger (once but never again as my mother did not approve of me doing so w/o her permission). I only turned a 12.30 @ over 60mph but I didn't do a burnout, footbrake it or anything like that. It ran consitently but I was only running 3/4 throttle as I didn't wanna brake anything (hey it's a old truck with 130,000 miles!). Not really all that fast but man oh man romp on it above 45 or so and it picks up. That 2.75 gear really lets it fly. Been followed up to 115 with a accurate speedo (only got a 85mph gage package now but I have a 100mph package to put in) by a 300zx and I wasn't even pushing it. But that is neither safe nor legal so no more details on that <G>
Anyways sorry I made this so long.
Drop me a line if your in the North Texas area and want to get togehter.
Oh yeah The ball park in arlington swap meet is sept. 7-8 (or so) and then good guys is at the Texas motor speedway Oct 4-5 (or so). Check to be sure on them dates. I think the Good Guys show would be a good one to meet up at......who has a good enough truck to actually be in the show for us to congregate around?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-Sep-02 AT 08:13 PM (EST)]Well hello there! Levelland Tx here. I'm sure no one knows where that is so I'll just Lubbock area. I'm only 30 miles away. I'm working on my 3rd Ford but the 1st one to belong to me and I come from a Chevy fan family. (had to be the odd ball!) That and I'm the ONLY female in the family that is interested in vehicles period. Anyone in this area feel free to catch me online sometime. I'm just getting started on this really so I can use all the help ya'll're willin' to give me.
I checked out the join page and it, of course, says that they are behind basically. I figure one of ya'll can tell me if there's a membership fee and alla that jazz. Basically, what's the terms. I think I'm one of two people in the Lubbock area, unless I missed someone and I already know that guy. I met him in the mall and he ran off when me and my friend went to JCPenny's lingerie section... I think he thought we ditched him. Poor guy. SORRY NOMAD!!!!

'83 f100 "The Ford" (my first)
'85 f150 "Old Blue" (my next project)
Welcome to the party. They are behind on the membership process right now but they are suppose to put up alot of big notices when it's a good time to apply. I'm waiting just like you. I can't remember off the top of my head how much it is a year but I believe it's around 25-35, depending on if you want a FTE t-shirt or not. I guess someone else will chime in with the solid numbers.
