96 rough idle??

96 rough idle??
I have a 96 auto with about 220,000 on it. Whenever I start it up It will almost sound like a cam'd out car intill you hit the throttle then it quits and when you rev it up when it hits 2k it sounds like its choking out then it will clear up and rev on up. Also the trany wont go into overdrive.
I ran the modis on it and done a buzz and cylinder contribution test. I get a code IDM Fault.
Also does anyone know what P0269 code is? thanks

google says the P0269 is a Cylinder #3 Injector circuit contribution / Balance fault. Maybe a burnt connection on the UVCH (Under Valve Cover Harness)? Pull the oil fill cap and smell for burnt plastic and look at the connectors that go into the valve covers. The lope at idle you describe i have heard can be caused by the transmission range sensor on the tranny, maybe search on here for lope at idle and see what you find.
