I have a1986 F150 that I inherited. My granddad bought it new off the lot in 87 and then he died in 89. it sat there at my grandmothers house, with a little bit of use by the neighbor, until my dad got it off of her in '98 or so. I started driving it 2 years ago when I got my license and it has always run fine, until recently. recently it has started this thing where it doesn't want to idle smooth at a stop light or anytime I have to stop completly. I often have to keep one foot on the gas. and then when I go to leave the light it does not want to go. it will start and then act like it is going to stall and I have to play games with the gas peddle to keep it from doing that very thing. it has gotten to where I don't pull out in front of any traffic at all.
I will now say that I know very little about working on engines but I was hoping that somebody on here would know of an easy (cheap) fix because I don't have the money to take it to anybody right now.
oh and it is just a straight 6 engine. nothing special.
thanks in advance!!!!!
