1965 F250 2WD Axle Seal Leaking

What is involved to replace a leaking axle seal? I'm getting oil/grease being thrown from the center of the hub on one side. Being a novice at this, just wondering if this is something I should consider doing myself.
Thanks

F250 = Dana 60. The seal fits on the spindle that's part of the axle housing.

Everything has to come off, drum, hub, axleshaft, the whole tamale...to get to that seal.

This is not a pleasant job. If you don't have a Haynes, Chilton or factory shop manual...I suggest you get one...cuz you're gonna need it.

Do you have the '64/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog? If so...look here to see what's involved: Illustration Section 40, Page 5. The seal is basic part number 1175.
