Oil filter cap ?

Anyone ever use one of the billet aluminum oil filter caps? Are they the same size as the stock cap? Meaning do they meet the requirements of the filter seating all the way down to where it's supposed to be not like the aftermarket where there's a gap in the bottom. And where did you get the cap if anyone has one that works good?

Thanks

Shawn

i believe the caps are good as far as the oil filter seating goes. i'm pretty sure that it is just the aftermarket filters that are too short to close the anti-siphon valve. i know the billet cap is a must have if you intend to put an oil pressure gauge in your truck since it has the sensor port drilled in it already.

i am in kind of a hurry so i don't have quite enough time to look up a link for ya but i'm sure someone will chime in and help you out

I have Amsoil's billet cap with my by-pass setup...its exactly the same size, just has a 1/4" NPT orifice in the top...you could just plug it if not using it as a bypass cap.

I would buy a cap from a company rather than ebay - just because I am a suspicious kind of guy and would always worry about the quality of machining (for fitment as you asked originally)

Hey thanks for the replies guys. Thanks for the sites to look for Mark. My cap keeps leaking even every time I change the oil. I lube the oring and torque it down but it still seems to leak. If I tighten it down hard enough it stops leaking but I know one of these days it's just gonna crack so I thought I'd try one of the billet caps.
