I have a new truck!! - not a replacement, just an addition. It is a brand new 2002 F250 Lariat Superduty Powerstroke (what else) that Joanie (my wife) bought me for a present. It is such a nice truck, I spent a little time today (first day with it) taking it to get a shell on the back, as it will be used up north in the winter, and I did not want to carry a ton of snow around with me. It has the short bed, but short is a relative term, the thing is only a couple of feet shorter than the flatbed! It is leather inside, and looks more like a luxury car rather than a truck. Obviously it is a diesel - who could not buy another if they wanted a truck?. It is white with beige interior, and a beige stripe at the bottom. Today I got a Brush guard, bug guard, side window visors, mud flaps, wheel well trims, and very nice raised top shell. I would have said something on the main board if only I knew where to post such things.

Of course, that means first you have to find a truck at a decent price--there are far too many crack-smokers out there when it came to vehicle pricing
The surprising thing (to me anyway) was when my dad visited me in SoCal--he found out he could have saved over $6K on his (then new) 95 F150 4x4 (compared to what he paid in WA)
Where abouts in SoCal you gonna be? I spent most of my 10 Navy years in San Diego myself
Pictures will be forthcoming - the brush guard qualifies as Roo Bars, I think. It needs a good clean - the detailers were off the day Joan picked it up, so it still has lot numbers, delivery tags and quality control stickers on it.. Today Sarah can play at washing trucks, so maybe this evening we will fire up the digital camera and play photographer!
I really like this truck! time to change the signature I think.
Wolf, it is always time to get another truck - buy a powerstroke next time - the earlier models are GOOD trucks, and be had for very little money now - remember that 200,000 miles to a diesel is nothing to worry about.

I've been wondering lately if a pair of old trucks I saw in part of San Diego County were in fact Cab Over Engine (COE) trucks from the forties or early fifties - if they're still there I might become real greedy!
I don't know if California was getting silly about diesels along with everything else, but I do know the druggies there are likely to sell almost anything for just enough to go get some more dope.
I once knew someone that bought a 1948 ******* van for $100.oo from somebody that used the money to buy a gram of coke. The new owner had the ******* running the very next day, and sold it for a thousand!
So I have my fingers crossed. There is also the hemi on my Pop's back porch to consider...
I uploaded a few pictures to my gallery - they are not composed, and not very good, but I got them uploaded.. KOOL. Could someone crop one of them and post it??? Wolfy,,??? Please.. they have way too much of everything other than the truck.

Theo: I have never asked anything of you but could you do us a favor?
I want you to chain on to california and drag it over to somewhere close to China.
I realize that the truck was not designed for "walking on water" but seeing as how you are in good standing with the Lord perhaps He would agree that it would be for the best?
What did the Chinese do that would make you curse them so? I think if California be dragged anywhere, the south pole should be far enough away from the rest of the world.

As light in the err...ah, common sense department that some costal states are, I think you will only need only one truck as the primary puller with the 2nd as back up.
And yes, the south pole would be good enviroment but it is still pristine.
