new bang stick
That is for the people who want such assurances

I fired my new ultra conceal weapon today. It is a keeper. I used the standard target that looks like a bowling pin, and got tight grouping, with six through a 1 inch group that showed 4 holes till you poked about and saw two of them were not round. (that was in the circle target at the right top.) The recoil was a little harder than that of the Classic, but manageable. Speedy liked it too, and shot 12 through it, with her usual tight grouping. If I have not mentioned the weapon before, It is a Sig P245, Compact Classic, .45 caliber, with a 4 inch barrel, and shortened grip. There is an extended finger rest on the 6 round magazine, so it fits well, and is amazingly concealable - I use a Miller inside the waistband holster, square in shape, fitted to the pistol, and a Galco inside the waistband magazine pouch, and you cannot tell I am carrying. I love it.. the fact that it shoots well, and does not hurt the hand is a bonus.

I don't know what I think about the duck billed grip yet though, it's almost too short for my hand.
I still have not managed to see a Mauser in the flesh, so I am not sure what size it is.

anyway, Today I could not be bothered to get dressed up, so loafed around in shorts and tshirt. When I went out, I got my lightest weapon out, and my friction surfaced soft holster, and mated the two, tucked it into the shorts elastic waistband, and wore it like that all day, no movement - the friction surfaced holster is made out of the same material wet suits are made of, and actually sticks to your side, by friction, keeping the holster firm in place. Todays carry was my very reliable and trustworthy worked over KelTec 9mm. Out of the box they are better than most of the cheaper offerings, and with little work, are as reliable as the big bores, actually more so that the stock 1911.
Now, am I still talking to myself here?

You must have intended your last post to provoke a response from someone, so I'll take the bait. Next to Ford trucks, I'm as bullish on the Colt 1911 .45 ACP as about any other piece of hardware there is. Having built, repaired, modified, carried and shot thousands of rounds through a few score of these guns over the last 30 years, I feel qualified to comment on their reliability and utility.
While my agency requires me to carry the .40 caliber Glocks (I have a county-issued M-22, M-27, and M-35, and I'm a certifed Glock armorer), and these are fine weapons, I prefer the .45 caliber 1911 in virtually any imaginable tactical handgun scenario. In previous employment it was my daily carry weapon for over ten years. I've never found an "out of the box" 1911 from any reputable manufacturer that needed more than a few touches of a Craytex wheel to function flawlessly and provide respectable combat accuracy. Worn out or badly-modified guns are a different story, of course.
I'm glad that you are happy with the Kel-tech and wish you well while carrying it. In my experience, confidence in your equipment and in your ability to use it is at least half the battle. For me, few weapons -none of them handguns- inspire more confidence than the 1911.
Happy Trails,

I think that gun spoiled me on .45 ACP forever. I used to walk cans from the middle foreground of the range all the way to the very back with it because of the way it settled back after each round.
With a first round deliberately aimed at a target, I could place the next 7 in rapid fire just about perfectly on top of it watching the target only...
Five-spot .22 cal rifle targets were the logical next move - sighting down on the first spot in the pattern I would put one round each into the other four spots by 'feel' at varying ranges.
But at a point I sold it for lack of anyplace to store it while I went on cruise.
Pity - I was getting to know that piece really well.
