You ought to add some braces to that. Side to side kind of thing. I busted off one of my mounts cause the truck was pulled at a little bit of an angle. My rear bumper is now bulletproof.
Oh and BlueRebel, you can wheel with me. We'll recover with your D-Rings and chains, just to **** people off.
And if you kill me, I won't blame you.

You should realize Mr. N is only trying to help - he isn't ragging on you for the fun of it. There are serious safety concerns with your design that could be addressed fairly easily. Is it worth killing someone because your bumper was "good enough"?? The amount of forces you're playing with while recovering are deadly and nothing to mess around with, it's just not worth it.

No, dont get me wrong, I really do appreciate his advice. its better to know now that the bumper doesnt pass safety than when im sittin in line at the trailhead. If I can ever get myself back in the black I will probably completely redo the bumper, but until then its gonna have do as is.
And for the record, I will NEVER jerk out w/ chains!! lol

thats why they are such a rough jerk right kris? LOL since you have experience in that field
chains are okay for a slow and steady pull if the deadweight isnt too heavy...but i would never use them during a recovery...i can immagine the damage flying chains or bumpers could do...i have a 35,000 lb recovery strap for that ...that ones going in the 2wd and im getting the 4x4 a 50,000 lb strap

35000 and 50000 will still break if your really stuck. You might get lucky with the 50k. Ive got a 6"x30' 60k lbs strap. Ive had it for a little over a year now and it has been awsome. I got it at tractor supply for $100. Its help up to a f250 4x4 wiht a 6.0, in 4lo, bumper to bumper to me and putting it to the floor numerous times.
