Water pump pulley grinding into crank pulley

Truck's been down for a couple of days, had to gut the interior to finally get all the ants out.

Put it back together today and crank it over and there is this horrible grinding noise.
I look under the hood and there are sparks coming from the water pump pulley/crank pulley.

I assume that the water pump has decided to quit and is wobbling loose?

I was previously having power steering pump issues. Would over tightening my belt have caused this?

sounds like you may have to look in to changing your pully size just a lil bit....a smaller water pump pully maybe?

The two pullies aren't grinding together are they? I haven't ever seen a water pump pulley so big it would be possible to even reach the crank pulley! Your water pump must have coughed out the impeller shaft bearing or something! Post us a pic?

Sounds like the bearing is shot on the water pump and it is tilting just enough to scrape the crank pully.

You evicted the ants, and they sabotoged your truck!!

just one thing for ya are u sure that the power steering pump is factory or did the previous owner rob one off a different motor, thinking that just because it looks similar that it would work!
just wanted to add that cause my power steering pump was definetly jimmy rigged and I thought it was stock but I found out later on down the road that it wasnt cause it took a dive and i lost fluid pressure at 60mph!!!!
