Engine Plate Confusion

Hello, does anyone know if you can use the engine plate that goes between the engine and transmission from a 351m, on 1 460? The 460 has a manual transmission engine plate, and I can't get the starter to bolt up to it because the holes are in the wrong location, and I have a junk 351m motor i can get the plate off of.

351M/400 vs 460 = The Ford part numbers are not the same, so I dunno whether the parts will interchange...or not.

FTE member monsterbaby is the one who will know.

the motor i have is out of a 71 lincoln I believe, but it was pulled out of a 79 f250 4x4. The 460 was attached to a four speed. Do you know any part numbers for a 71 460 with an automatic transmission?

On my 351m to 460 swap. I kept the plate from the 351m and put it on the 460, this was on a manual transmission. 1977 4x4.

Fits: 1971/78 Passenger Cars with 429/460's / 1971/79 Passenger Cars with 400's / 1975/79 Passenger Cars with 351M's.

Fits: 1973/79 F100/350 460 // 1977/79 F100/350 351M/400 // 1978/82 Bronco with 351M/400.

Fits: 1980/97 F250/350 460 // 1980/82 F150/350 351M/400.

You need to contact FTE member monsterbaby, the guru of all things 460 to find out which plate will work.

I'm not the one to ask about swaps, all I do is read and post what the Ford parts catalogs say.

NOTE: The plates listed in Post #2 are for manual transmissions.

EDIT: I JUST P/M'd MONSTERBABY...he will know.
