lets play name that part

ok i fixed the front heater core, but in the process i broke a part i can not name. its the cable that runs from the shift column to what i assume is the transmition. what broke was some of the 13 year old plastic. but like i said before i have no clue what to call that part, and i am sure that the ford dealer wont understand me if i call it that F@@### cable that broke. please help. thankyou matt

is it under the hood or under the steering wheel?

its behind the steering wheel. runs from the gear shift arm to under the floor board and then i dont know were it goes

does it have a white clip with a adjustment wheel on it?
is your shift indicator offset?

That's what I was thinking, but he says it runs under the floor board.

It's fairly EZ to name that part, list the Ford part number, MSRP & FTE member discount price, but...

It would be nice if you mentioned exactly what you are working on!

You profile say 1992 F350. Is this what the cable is for? If so, the "some sort of plastic" is 18 yrs old, not 13.
