Thanks for the replies and your opinions. I'm going to start my new project with replacing my floor pans and getting the bedliner put throughout my cab. I have a few questions. Other than the obvious floor pans is there any other parts i need to order to finish this job? Where is the best place to order the pans ect.? I was thinking Bronco Graveyard.
Does any one have any experience with the do-it-yourself bedliners in their cab? What are the pros and cons of the DIY, is it worth it or should I spend the xtra money to have line-x spray it in? They told me between $6-$700. Plus i would have to have the floor pans put in because i have neither the tools or the welding experience. Thanks guys!
Just on my own experience, I put a diy bedliner in my cab and the results weren't quite what I was expecting, I wanted a thicker liner, what I did get was satisfactory. I had to really clean and prep the surface. anywhere I didn't it has started to flake off. I have always planned on dismantleing the truck and painting it when all is put together the way I want. overall I'd say it came out ok. I have other things that I would spend the $600 on.
I thought about the spray in bed liner for the inside of my cab. I ended up just going with a new vinyl floor mat. I got it from Bronco Graveyard. It seems very heavy duty and is molded to the shape of the floor pan. Its a full lenght mat also, it goes all the way to the back of the cab unlike the factory mat. Im very happy with it. It is very, very close if not identical to the factory mat also.
I have my mind set on the Herculiner but thanks 331! I have called Dennis Carpenter, Bronco Graveyard, Lmc and NPD. All sell 18 gauge floor pans with the exception of LMC which is 19 and DC is 14. I was going to go with Bronco Graveyard they are $45 a side plus shipping. Are they good quality or should i go with another company?
Ordered my new floor pans from bronco graveyard today! I have been calling around trying to find a shop that will weld them in. I have been getting quoted anywhere from 150-200 bucks a side. Does that sound reasonable? Also had one guy tell me he might have to pull the cab off. I didn't think you had to do that. Anyone have any experience doing this so i know if i'm getting ripped off on the labor and price? Thanks
No responces to above but i'll try again hahahaha. Well i received my floor pans today from Bronco Graveyard. Fast service!! They look a little disappointing though. Awful thin lookin....maybe just me. Anyway i did some searching on this forum and found that some people also replaced there cab mounts while replacing there floor pans. Mine look good from the outside so i didn't order any. Is it easier to replace the cab mounts and floor pans all at the same time?
i imagine it would be i havent personally done it but if ur doing the floors u might as well just have the cab mounts done all at one time and not have to worry about them even being slightly bad....IMO yea i would be easier...hope i helped alittle bit!
Thanks! I know you said you have never done it before but you or anyone else wouldn't happen to know if the cab has to be removed to replace the cab mounts?
The cab mounts will be easiest to replace if the cab is not mounted to the chassis. As far as replacing them just because, I just don't see the need to cut out good metal and replace it. If they're not rusted out don't bother, just clean em up and seal em.
