Hi Guys,
Have an 08 F350 and need a signal light lense for my passenger side mirror. Went to the dealer here and they want $100. Does anyone know of a cheaper place to pick one up? Thanks in advance for the info.

 

Good luck pal! I've got an 03 with the same problem on the drivers side.

The biggest problem is (at least with my year model) that Ford doesn't just sell the lens...you have to buy the whole back cover to get the lens.

You might try posting for guys who have bought the Recon smoked lens and see if someone will sell you the ones they replaced.

$100 for 1 lense, you could get 2 lenses and change to smoke lenses if you wanted.

Thanks Scraprat, I was already considering that and just put the order in, at least if I need another one down the road Ford can't rip me off again.

 

For the price of one cover which includes the amber lens...you can get a pair of clear or smoked Recons....guess I'm gonna get used to having a clear lens on the mirrors.

Ok so I ordered the Recon lenses and should be getting them in a few days. Does anyone know how to get the old lense off to replace it?? I've looked at the mirror from 8 different angles and can't seem to figure it out. Thanks

 

Brandon, I'm not sure on yours since you have the newer model towing mirrors. On mine, I tilted the mirror all the way towards the door window. Take a flashlight and look between the back cover and the mirror...on mine you see a series of plastic tabs. You have to CAREFULLY depress the tabs and work the back cover off of the mirror. Unplug the little wiring harness and you should be able to see the tabs to remove your amber section.

Let us know if you find something different on yours since it's a different model.

Hi guys, Finally got the Recon lenses in the mail and did the swap today. Wanted to give an update for anyone else that has problems or changes out their signal lenses. To get the factory lenses out all you have to do is slide a small flat screwdriver between the 2 mirrors, towards the outside edge of the mirror. If you look in there you can see a tab that holds the signal lense in. Just push the screw driver in and release the tab and the lense will pop right out. Takes 5 seconds once you know what you are doing. Hope this helps someone else out down the road. Cheers
