At 75% of highway driving my computer is reading I am getting 22 to 23.5 mpg, but when I calculate by hand it is 17.4 or so. Why bother putting in a mpg reader if it is just going to throw out random numbers.
I've been watching this thing a fair bit lately, reset it at every fill and compare vs calculate by hand. I'm up in Canada so I've got to convert the gallons over to US gallons but I'm surprised how close it has been. It's been between 3 to 5% off, of course on the high side. But that's just Ford wanting us to feel good about our trucks, IMHO.
I reset mine after filling tank and it's real close to hand cal, within 1/2 mile or so. I was impressed as the one I had in a Dodge was off a lot. Chris
