Baddest azz 4x4 fords?
So whos got the baddest 4x4 in here?
I know back in the day we had some pretty sick trucks in here. Proliator is the first one I remember that made me drool but he was soon followed by Ivan and Cleatus with their crazy 4x4s. I don't post in here enough to keep track of things, but everybody loves a good pic thread with sick trucks that can inspire the rest of us.
So lets see the pics of the truely sick fte 4x4 rigs from guys who post in here! Dont forget the specs!

Here's my 95 F-150 woods truck. 351w, slightly warmed up, with re-worked e4od tranny, locked 8.8 with chromo shafts and SAS'd D44 with chromo shafts. 4.56 gears, and sitting on 38.5 boggers. Fastest time in 200' mud bog was 7 seconds flat, earning me a 1st place run that day:
The second toy is the new ranger. 466ci, race built c6, gutted 208, spooled/35 splined chromo'ed 9", and chromo'd D44, mixed gearset of 3.50/4.10 mudrace only! New gears and t-case mods to be done over the winter as well as a new cage, nos, motor upgrades. Runs so fast the front tires barely stay in the mud, and this is on DOT's not cuts:
Sitting on 38.5x11 boggers front and cut 39.5x15 boggers rear:

The red one is just a baby, and the orange pile is a ton of fun.
The 557 keeps it motivated, and really starts to sing at 6000 rpm. 7200 rpm, and she is getting after it. 44" Boggers sling brick sized chunks of mud, Beadlocks keep the tireo n the wheel, but this is a bare bones truck. Nothing real fancy or neat, just something to beat around in the mud.

High Steer with Chevy 1 ton tie rod ends, Bilstien 5125's out back, Dual Rancho 5000's up front. 4.88's, with limited slip front, Posi rear, and brand new 38.5x15-LT16 Boggers. Wish they made 40's on 16's . . .

I only run about three lbs of air in the rear and about six up front. It steers terribly with any less. The rear is deformed a bit because it is parked on a rock.
This type of mud likes the widest pattern possible, and lower pressures really help this along.
When I smash the skinny pedal, the tires to tend to wobble about. Its a tradeoff.

Here's my baby. It's what's left of a 94 F-150. bobbed long bed, king pin dana 60 in front with a 3 link, sterling 10.25 in the rear with a 4 link on coils and a rear disk conversion. Custom bumpers front and rear, custom suspension, diamond plate fuel cell in between the upper 4 link bars, boxed and redone rear frame, trussed axles, expedition overhead console, custom crossmembers, 44" boggers on weld 16.5x12 scorpios and probably more that I'm forgetting. Next on the list to get it going is the 203/205 doubler with the triple stick conversion and then rebuilding the axles with 5.38s and arbs

The one thing that I'm most proud about on this thing is that I've had a hand in building everything on this thing. Most of the work I did, but had a some help on a few things, but I can definately say this thing is MY TRUCK!

I wheel both trucks. A third will be out soon. Ok, I dont wheel then both, the little lady drives the red one when she is not cruising the pumpkin. When she lets me drive (yeah I said it, she is the boss, If momma aint happy, aint nobody happy, and I know this) the orange one, she pilots the recovery vehicle.(red one)
Red is an mild engine, aluminum heads, roller cam and rockers, automatic transmission with lock up / overdrive, 35 Spline rear axle and Detroit, with a Dana 60F, non tapered shafts and 35 spline outers. This has a Power lock. Twin stick 205, and a doubler (sitting on bench for a year) waiting to go back in. I was trying to make my own 3:1 gear set. Still working at it.
Rear mounted winch for heavy recovery. Snap On tool box, bed mounted of course, and enough spare parts to replece or rebuild just about anything. We seldom leave anything broken.
Spare parts include spare alternators, drivhesafts, yokes, u-joints, tire rod ends, spherical rod ends, assortment of gaskets, fluids, and wire. Gas powered water pump and hoses ride along for every trip to the mud, and it has storage for additional fuel. On borad air, and nitrogen is available for shock repairs / air tools, or to air up the tires.
Red is the caddy of the two, but the new one will be out soon. I have run out of room for all of the recover stuff, so the need for a third truck has been called.
New truck will have an onboard welder / generator / compressor. Detroit / power lock combo, chromo shafts, twin stick, mild roller 460 and enough parts to just about build an entire truck if we had to. Something about driving a rolling parts store around is just so cool. Being able to repair just about anything allows us to get real serious about wheeling. This truck will also carry the nitrous refilling station for the times when the orange truck makes some nitrous passes.
Last is the pumpkin. This giant truck is nothing more than a big old truck. Again, another 1 ton with a Detroit out back, Power lock up front chro mo shafts, blah, blah, blah. This is the only one with a 4speed. Yes, the pumpkin is a handshaker. This trans is a T-19 with a ceramic clutch which is hydraulically operated. The real fun factor comes from the 557 (three stages of nitrous) roller cam, roller rockers, Kaase P-51 heads, and Demon carb. This thing is a giant. It runs well enough to drive on the street. I often make some runs to the soda shop when the fridge at the garage runs low on adult beverages. My neighbors are cool with it, though at idle it rattles the neighbors crystal stemware. It has not knocked anything over yet, and probably wont, it just rumbles with authority. Yes, I do run muffler. Borla stainless mufflers are in it.
While L&L headers seem to function fine, I am looking into some extra long tube units with a slightly larger primary, and using Borla collector mufflers in 4" diameter. I will then run Dr. Gas "X" pipe in some square fashion (still designing this a bit) and then some flat style exhaust similar to Nascar style exhausts. Been on the phone with them for a while, and this might be in the works in the near future. This season will end soon, and I will tear the thing apart for a re-ring and inspection. This is when I sneak my little upgrades into it.
Also thought of lowering the thing some, and making it look more civilized. I will install bumpers again, and might not keep such an extreme appearance. Cool truck, but I will try to make it a bit more civilized. Might even paint it similar to the red truck. I like the two tone retro look, so it might also see some paint time.

Awesome truck. One of my favorites on this site. You pay attention to details that many overlook. I appreciate the fabrication skills you have.
Small touches like the provision for the fluid lines and or electrical on the rear x-member / shock mounts is a very nice touch, and your truck is full of fine attention to detail.

it waiting on 35x13.50 ground hawgs that are supposed to be in soon, its currently awaiting inspection hense the tooks on the off road lights
this truck is a huge WIP...so on the list..

-ZF 5speed swap
-mild 300 build (probably wont stay mild once i tear into it )
-id like to get a 9" out back if i can find out what to do about the VSS
-i want either a gear drive and/or twin stick t-case still undecided here
-finish fixing the rust
-and maybe level out the front about and inch
-dual battery setup with a bigger alternator
-fuel pump kill switch
-sliding rear window
this truck has been built completely by me, everything from start to finish (with the exception of the drag link and trac bar machining) and i intend to keep it that way...this truck has taught me more in the last 6 months than i have learned in school over the last 12 years...and i plan on driving this thing to my grad LOL
not much but i built it and i am proud of it, after all, how many 16 year old kids can say they have done that kind of work...well i shouldnt ask that on here there are probably many of them LOL

ha ha, the first step is going to get it moving under it's own power again. I'm tired of dragging it around with the tractor. After that we'll THINK about the paint n body work
Oh and actually the ONLY thing I haven't touched is the engine... still stock there FOR NOW! It will someday shred it's tired small block for a fire breathing MAF roller 460! for now it has a 35 horse john deere moving her around
