Hey guys and girls it has been a loooong time since i've been on sorry life just to hectic latley. Anyway when I first purchased my Bronco I installed a new fuel tank now it doesn't want to take gas correctly. Ihve pulled off the fill hose and check to see if the vent hose is correctly installed and it is no holes no kinks but it still takes 15-20 minutes to fill up due to the gas filling up the fill hose then slowly trickling down gurgling the whole time (sucks in 10 degree weather) Tank is installed correctly and all connections correct I am at a lose what to try next. Anyone else ever dealt with this or have any suggstions to fix it. Thanks in advance. Jimmy
Do you have the nozzle jammed all the way in? My Broncos will do that if I jam it all the way in. I pull it out just enough & it runs non-stop for 5 minutes & 30 gallons. The other thing might be a 'belly' in your filler hose. Shorten the hose so you'll have a downward flow, instead of down & up & down. Those are my two guesses. Good luck!
I had the same problem after removing and reinstalling the gas tank in my 89 to change the in tank fuel pump. I removed the fill hose a time or two and re installed. it fills normal now. I think I may of had a kink in the hose that is inside the filler hose.
There should be two hoses in the filler line, the inside one carries the fuel to the tank, the outer one carries the air out to the fill cap. Remove filler hose and re-install correctly.
Pictures are shown in My Garage under the 1990 Bronco Custom. I removed the tank to troubleshoot a fuel pressure issue. I found it easier to remove the filler from the fuel door down to the tank first before dropping the tank.
