A short one page, easy easy to read & understand tutorial on how to quickly & easily trouble shoot & diagnose various engine ills with the simple vacuum gauge & how to interpret what the gauge is telling us with various moving gauge graphic Scenarios at the bottom of the page.
Yah I know, most Techs now days probably don't even have a vacuum gauge in their tool box, but first reach for their scantool for a diagnosis,
But the vacuum gauge is quicker, simpler, faster & easier to hook up (no boot up, or programming time) & it's very easy to read, for a fast diagnosis.
IMO everyone should have one in their tool box & for sure should use one on any used vehicle Before purchase.
Anyway have a look-see at what a vacuum gauge can so quickly reveal about an engine, bet there are some things you'd never think of, like oil dillution, clogged exhaust, worn valve guides ect, ect!!!! Enjoy the graphics. How to Use and Interpret a Vacuum Gauge
You can also hook up the gauge with enough hose to have the gauge in the cab...helps train your right foot to stay off the throttle/gas unless necessary...higher vac means better mpg...was stock on some carbed vehicles back when I chased dinosaurs and cavegirls for fun.
