You're only factoring in the cost on the front end. You're not counting the 2-3 grand on the back end that statistically speaking the Edge is going to cost you in atleast tranny repairs alone. More then that if you rebuild the tranny stronger.

The Live Wire uses the OBD-II port to display selected parameters while driving. Tuning wise it does the same thing.

I woudn't do the LiveWire. I have heard too many stories of it not working to be comfortable with it's reliability. Usually to do with the screen. It would be a 50/50 shot of you getting a good one.

LiveWire, Spartan Phalanx and the new SCT device Touchscreen Xtreme all connect thru the OBD-II port for alot of the information, however, none of them can get all the information as not all information is supported in the PCM. Two sensors come to mind are EGTS and Fuel PSI. All of the monitors like the ones mentioned above get EGTs, but the LiveWire doesn't have an expansion for Fuel PSI(unless they came out with one recently that I didn't know about which is possible), the Phalanx does allow for the expansion, however, I haven't found any literature on the TSX to know if that one does too or not. All the others too my knowledge only get EGTs. I think that the DashHawk was toying around with expansions, but I don't know if it went anywhere or not. There was a user on here pretty often(Beerstalker I think his handle is/was), but I haven't seen him on here(atleast not posting on here) in a long time, so I don't know if he comes on anymore or not.

if you want a monitor the best band for the bucks is the edge insight. then get the sct x3 for the tuner. it will then have the pleasing asthertics of the edge and the versatitlity and power of the sct. the live wire has very few mounting options and they are bulky. i do like the dash daq and phalanx package. they are just expensive and yes with either you get what you pay for as they will do more.
