I have a 1985 F150 4x4 with a 4 speed. It has a 300 6cyl. It has a one barrel Carter Carb. My question is which carb? the only numbers on the carb are 62253 on the top. 7094S on the bottom plate and 2507 located on the side. It has the black climate control thing on the back. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The carb needs to be rebuilt or replaced and I'm tring to figure out what I need. Thanks again for all the help.
Should be a YFA. Are there any electrical wires going to it? If so, it's a feedback model, but I'm not sure it your year had them yet. The black climate control is the choke thermostat housing.
Take the numbers to Autozone. they have a kit for $13. Just did mine. Piece of cake. Just get a can of the carb dip and some spray carb cleaner. And rubber gloves.
Thanks for the help. It doesn't have any electrical connections on it. But I'm not sure if it's the origional Carb. I'll go get the rebuild kit for it and try it. Never rebuilt one before. Thanks again.
update on the carb rebuild. Sorry it took so long I had pnomunia. I went to auto zone and got the kit. just FYI there are 2 for that year. I needed the one with the bigger TPI. Soaked the carb over night and it took about twenty minute to rebuild it.bolted it on and BINGO. Trucked started right up and runs good except for all the smoke. Oh well time to rebuild the six.
