update...
got the motor out, went pretty smooth, i left the T/C on the tranny.
waiting on a few parts in the mail.
went with the comp cam extreme energy 262in 270exh 4x4 cam and lifters.
tore apart the old engine. found a bad lifter, the bottom of it was mashed up and the cam lobe went flat, only on one lifter, any idea what would cause this???? i replaced the lifters recently, did everything by the book and one failed, could it be a faulty lifter?

That cam you picked is not EFI compatable, you need one with 114LSA or greater and less than 215deg intake duration.. preferably quite a bit less to produce a steady vacuum signal. Your choices aren't great since Crane went under but the Comp cams 35-255-5 fits the bill.
