I just bought an 01 7.3 Ex limited a few weeks ago and I have been working out out town the past few weeks and I have not had that much time to enjoy it. I did notice when I got it home none of the actuators did not work( go figure) and thanks to this site I was able to find the sticky that goes through how to change them out. I also found that the middle seat (bench) did not slide. While investigating I found 2 shinny little bolts that bolted the slide together and also the mechanism that caused it to slide was bent. My question is do I buy the whole track and where do I get one of these? I thought about junyards but I would not figure you would see to many Ex's in junkyards. Other than that I love the vehicle and its the best riding vehicle I have ever driven.I have enjoyed looking at what every body has done to theirs and after a tune, towing mirrors and exhaust I will be done.
Welcome to FTE and to the Excursion forum in particular... I would still try your salvage yards. I know my local yard has about 3~4 excursions currently. Cant remember if the seats were there or not... good luck
Yep, we like looking here first and then making a list of upgrades. While we do save on repair cost with the help of fellow members, that and more is easily chewed up in mods. But hey, save a little to spend alot.
Thanks, I will give it a shot, I am looking some tow mirrors with the turn signals, it looks as if they should be interchangable, I have a travel trailer I plan on using it for that. I also have a chevy truck that might be sold because I like driving this better. Its gonna be a slow progress but a fun one as soon as I get the bugs worked out.
