I have finally decided to ask since I actually remembered this time when I got in front of my computer.
In the warmer weather days...no issues. But about 3 days ago, the weather turned and we got hit with about 3ft of snow. Now I only notice this when there is a pretty good snowfall, but....I smell deisel.
I know it sounds weird, but I swear I am not going crazy. I smell deisel but only when there is a good snowfall.
Why?
Yes...I do love to go out in it and drive around looking to pull the idiots out of the ditches and just generally get around when they say it is too bad to get around in. Blast a couple of drifts here and there but nothing major.
Have you run the defroster any other time? Just thinking maybe if you haven't,now that the need is here, maybe its the o-rings for the fuel drain valve and you just don't smell it while the weather is warm....just my.02 worth
I do run the defrost while it's warming up when it gets cold...usually when there is frost on the windows. But never a smell of anything...unless....it snows really good.
You could always move down here where it don't snow. . jk. Next time you smell diesel, look under the hood and see if you see any fuel in the valley. How does your up-pipes look? Could be smelling exhaust from the up-pipe going to the outside vent.
