Help!!! Programmer issues!!

So I am about to wire money tomorrow to buy "my" perfect excursion. It is at a dealer and I was actually able to track down the original owner. Older lady that was very nice and is going to send me all the maintenance records and receipts. She said it was "chipped" not sure what it has though. I will call her tomorrow. I asked the guy at the dealer to look for a programmer and he said there was nothing in the vehicle.
If it is "programmed" and I do not have the programmer- am I screwed? Can I have someone else get it back to stock and then I can get a DP-Tuner? or go straight to a DP-Tuner setup? My toy is a Jeep CJ with an AMC 360 block with a GM TBI setup - this diesel stuff is all new to me!!
I don't want to end up paying big $$$ for a new ECU or something....

Thanks!
Joe

You can have it re-flashed by the dealer, don't know what that would cost though! In 99.9 percent of the cases you won't need a new computer.

you may have like a gold superchip which is just plugged into the same port that a flip chip would plug into... That is what was in my truck. you can remove the chip to get to stock and or install the flip chip....

Ok,

So this really is not an issue then? Worst case I just have it re-flashed? Whew!

Thanks all!

Have DP-Tuner flash it back to a Tow tune for $75 or flashed back to stock and have an F6 installed.

I plan on following DP-Tuner's advice when I get there! This is a daily driver for me (until the twins come) and then I will probably lose it to her and get the honda
