I have an '05 F-250 4x4 6.0 that is still all stock. Was just wondering what shocks most people were having the best luck with. The stock Ranchos have got to go.
I'm happy with my Bilstein HD as well. But don't expect them to ride softer than your OEM FX shocks. They dampen better, to minimize bouncing and improve handling. What they don't do is improve the stiff ride. In my experience anyway.
I have the Bilsteins and they are definately better for cornering and overall stability but they do still ride stiff when the truck is empty. Good shock for the $.
I got the Bilstein 5100s myself and love em'. Great improvement over stock. My stockers were basically close to gone at 70k. Much more control with the 5100s.

Most go either with the hd bilsteins or the 9000 adjustable ranchos. With the bilsteins you seem to hear a little harsher stiffer ride. The rancho adjust to the stiffness that you want, and can even go with the in cab controller, and sometimes offered for free.
I have the 9000's and happy with them for the last 1.5 years I've had them.
