Interior light won't come on.
1. Light does not come on with either door.
2. Light does not come on with dimmer switch.
3. Interior Light Relay under dash does not engage, but, relay is confirmed good.
4. Using a jumper in the relay socket will turn the light on.
5. All fuses check OK
I'm assuming it is not a door switch problem as both doors act the same and also the manual switch does not work.
Does anyone know of a possible central failure point between the 3 switches and the relay?
Thanks.
Do you have the specific wiring diagrams for your truck? you tested the relay with a seperate 12v ?????
When you open the any door does the rear cab bed light turn on?(if this is a superduty truck)
we always need as much info on your truck to be able to help you quickly.
Welcome to FTE
Rich
It is a 2001 F-450 SD 7.3PSD.
There's no bed light installed. (it's a dump truck)
The relay was bench tested good with a separate 12v supply.
Unfortunatley I have no wiring info for the truck.
Thanks
I have had my 2002 F-350 Lariat Crew cab for just about a year and everything has worked perfectly. Last week, my cargo, dome and door courtesy lights stopped functioning as they should.
Used to come on when opening any door, or Using the remote to unlock the door (s), or using the dimmer swithch on the dash past the detent.... Now, I get none of these lights working with any of the above approaches.
I have replaced each of the bulbs (two in the cargo, two tubes in the dome lights, and the two front door panels).
I also checked each and every fuse in the main panel in the driver knee bolster. All are good. There are several relays in there, and I swapped them back and forth among eachother, with no change, positive or negative. (they are all the same, just oriented differently.)
Is there a secondary relay port Somewhere?
I read something about a GEM, but did not see anything in the back of the fuse panel. (I removed to examine)
There has got to be an answer to this.
Please help, the days are getting shorter and it's going to be a long winter here in Buffalo, NY...
