Gold emblem

I just bought an 85 f150 lariat. Under the lariat badge on the finder is a large crest shaped emblem that reads "gold" on both sides. Is it part of a package or somthing?

It may be a local dealer emblem. In Texas some had a lonestar edition I think. Louisiana had a cajun special edition. If you are in California it could be for the gold rush.

The "LARIAT" badge wasn't placed on the fender from the factory in 1985.

The fender should only have "F150, F250" etc. and then "XL, XLT" etc. right under that.

The "LARIAT" emblem was placed on the cab corner right behind the door.
