Really close to being done now, so wanted to post sort of as a thanks for the helpful information some of ya'll have given in order to me get this far. My 91 F350 4x2 Chassis Cab dually I bought a few months ago, just been doing work to it as spare time allowed. Still got some more to do to it before I'm finished but it's really close to being done. Just need to borrow a torch to finish up cutting the old bedsides off, repainting, waiting on new taillights and a few other odds & ends. Paid $1400 for it, got about 1k in parts & labor it so far, should still be under 3k total when I'm done.
Ignore the truck looking like it sags on the drivers side, it does sit level, I didn't realize how bad the dip I parked in to take these made it look untill I was already home and opened them on the computer.

That's a really nice truck. Is it turboed? If so, you could always go a little hotter with the IP and injectors. Might as well since you have to replace um anyway... A lil more power is always nice. If you are interested pm RacinNdrummin or NMB2. They can help you out.

Thanks F250HD, and good eye, that is the remains of a Tommy Gate. Unfortunately it doesn't work, the lift-gate it's self was beyond repair and the electric motor was bad. Started getting prices on parts and by the time I got them replaced and would have to get some rewelds done, it was over my budget. For that much $$$$ I'd rather spend it putting a dump kit on the truck, that would be much more useful for me and it's the plan down the road eventually. Tell you what you aren't kidding about it being heavy, the gate alone is about 500lbs, had to load it in the bed with an excavator when I got the truck.
Not hauling or doing too much with it currently as I'm getting ready to hunt down a driveshaft and until I find one or just end up having it re-yoked by a shop I found, it would be too risky to put a load on it. But once that's taken care of I haul a bit of everything, haul alot of various stuff for friends/family as I'm usually the only one with a truck. But for me I usually load up with firewood, scrap metal, gravel/dirt, and whatever else I may need from time to time. Might not really need a 1ton dually for what I do most of the time, but rather have too much truck than not enough ya never know what ya might get yourself into some days lol. And heck it seems to be getting about 18 MPG so far empty so not like it's killin me on fuel prices.

Here is the 1994 7.3 IDI turbo F350 I picked up a couple weeks ago for $500. Runs and drives well.
Hit it with the pressure washer to rid it of the horrible, late night, unsanded, unwashed, unprepped tremclad paint job and it looked better.
I could have just tossed a box and some paint at it and enjoyed but I have a couple 59 Mercury pickups sitting around that were headed for a lowered 2wd lifestyle. I ended up with a low mile Ranchero this summer that replaced that need though so the mercs together will be adorning the F350 chassis most likely with a 10ft flat deck to haul my toys around.

Will be the first IDI powered 'fridge' around that I have ever seen.

It's been a busy summer.
Up in the Chilliwack Mountains in the clear cutting areas, massive deforestation.
Went up to an old gold mine for the day. Yes we climbed that, there was a rickety *** walkway that followed the conveyor across that we took, little to navel puckering for the photo's up there. Yes I took the opportunity to slam the door as hard as I could as soon as my buddy stepped out onto it.
The sketchy *** ladder up the back of it.
Then we went exploring, and I got cocky....
In my defense this was pre-posi, and it was July, all old snow, that **** is miserable. It's the curse of the video camera, when it comes out, **** just goes wrong.

Then I dug myself out...
And apparently I seem to have hit a limit on posted images per post.
