Don't let those pictures fool you, the bed is see through behind the rears, although the cab is rust free. It doesn't need paint, and matching a new bed would be near impossible. Besides, I've always wanted to build a flatbed. I'll post some interior pics when I get a chance, its really in very decent shape other than the rust on the back.

southtexasidi Upload the images to one of your galleries then post to the thread you want that way the photo won't disappear when photo bucket or whoever your using decides to rearrange things. they are available from your control panel when logged in.
Maybe I should create a tutorial on how to do that.

This is from a local cruise last weekend. My Bullnose IDI flanked by 2 pairs of F150 4x4s...Dentsides on one side, OBS on the other. I was the Only IDI powered truck at the cruise...also most likely the only Non-Turbo diesel at that. Alot of people asked what I had in her. My response: "6.9 IDI" They would look at me funny and then go into "I know more than you know about your own truck" mode. Oh you mean 5.9, 12 or 24 valve....Um I have 8 cylinder in a V-config(My hood is up the whole time)..."No I said 6.9 IDI non-turbo."..."Oh, you mean 6.5!"..."Dammit, Do you see a Bowtie on the grille? It's not a Detroit, Its an International-Harvester diesel"..."Oh a 7.3 PowerStroke! Why'd you take the turbo off?"...So I reverted to speaking to them like 3yr olds. and they finally got it. A couple older guys knew exactly what I had(refreshing) They actually built the C6 cases for the IDIs...Talking to them was pretty cool...And my ol' girl got more cheers, pics and thumbs up then the lifted and blinged Cummins and Strokes...Especially when roalling coal out the side pipes

Here's my new 84 F250 XL 6.9 4spd. My grandfather bought it new in 83, and put 306,000 miles on it before putting it in the shed about 5 years ago. Apparently I told him I wanted the truck when I was 12, and after 12 more years, he decided to hand it down to me. Pics are after a good cleaning, tinting the windows, and a good once over with a bumper. Getting into these IDI's to find some extra power, the possibility of adding an air conditioner, and some new wheels/tires and a flatbed. Overall it's a great old truck and has a lot of value to me since i grew up driving it, and learned how to drive a manual trans for the first time in it too!

I'll let you know if I decide I want to get rid of the hubcaps, probably won't get rid of anything I remove from this truck for the sentimental reasons. If I ever get back home off the road, I'll take some pictures as to why the truck is getting a flatbed, as I said before, the bed is is really tough shape. I'm planning on building a skirted flatbed, very similar to Bradford Built's 4 box utility bed. I'll continue searching for a rust free bed and tailgate and purchase them, but won't put a new bed on the truck until I'm ready to paint the whole thing, as getting red to match the 28 year old cab would be impossible. Don't fret, I'll make sure it never looks ridiculous!
