my Bully Dog Triple Dog GT Tuner should be arriving today for my 06, so im reading up on the installation instructions on Bully Dogs site before it gets here... it says to run the power lead to a fuse that has "key on power", I looked through my owners manual and found 2 possible solutions... Fuse #27 which is Ignition Switch RUN Feed OR Fuse #45 which is Ignition Switch RUN/START Feed... or could I use Fuse #29 which is Customer Access? what is that?
Im thinking it would hook into Fuse 45... but anybody is welcome to chime in and prove me wrong... I emailed Bully Dog about it but lord knows when there gonna email me back. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in Advance.
here a pic of the GT, Ill post install pics later.
When I added a CRL power rear slider to my 03 F250 I used a Littlefuse Add a tap adapter so I didn't have to cut any wires or jerry rig the fuse box. I found several unused fuse sockets that were hot. For a hot in run wire the CRL tech advised splicing into the black wire running up the steering wheel column.
I think the Customer Access fuse is for a console cig lighter.
i think the kit comes with one of those fuse taps so theres no cutting anything. from what I read and understand the Customer Access it only has power to it when the key is ON and doesnt have power when the truck is off or in ACC mode. which is exactly what I need. im still waiting on the UPS man...
i would put it in the customer access one if there is currently some power to it. This would ensure you don't overload the others and prevent the truck from running. I don't that would happen but stranger things have before.
Do you have a tester so that you can check for power? What you don't want is power at that location with the key out.
yeah I have a multi Circuit tester... dad might have another type of tester... stupid question but i can use my multi circuit to test voltage by pullling the fuse and probing eaching side of the fuse clips and having someone turn the key ON and OFF etc right...? I dont use it enough to be familiar with how to check things.
