I have a 97 F250 4X4, added full banks system, but have since gone to the DP tuner,
Brian truck shop trans, Level 1 injectors. well I need to replace the engine.
any suggestions on who to go to for a Level 1 or 2 to replace the old OEM one?
suggestions would be a great thing .. ( note add links if possible)
I dont quite understand the question. You need to place the motor or the injectors? If your saying the motor short of damging the block you can do a complete rebuild for around $2k, vs $5k used or $10k new from the dealer. If your asking about injectors you should look into Jim at Rosewood. Hes the sponsor here and can help you out there probably better than anybody else here, and for a lot cheaper than anywhere else youll find.
Heres the link for Jim http://www.diy-injectors.com/
I agree with Oversize...your looking for an engine or level 1 or 2 injectors. Go with Rosewood if you mean injectors.
Looked at your info to see how many miles are on the motor and you have it as "rather not say"...Come on now don't be shy..if you want help show and tell us some more info!
scroll down towards the bottom of this page and check out each of those engine stages. he has from stage 0 up to basically stage 4. stage 4 isn't something you wanna pay for so probably stage 0 or 1 will be good for you. gotta call for pricing.. click here--- Outlaw Diesel Performance :: Online Store
I've about 150k on the motor and it's getting a knock when it idles down.
and the valves have issues .. so looking to replace the motor.
I have a tool issue,, me + tools = emergency room visit and lots of blood :-)
I have level 1 injectors and level 2 cold air intake, a banks rebuilt turbo and
cooler, still use their trans controller too. and a DB tuner with three
programs .. ( can't use the insane setting till I can get a new/redone
motor with stronger head bolts ..... :-) and a Brian truck shop trans.
everything else is stock (for now)
so I'm looking for someone who does motors, the wife gave me the thumbs up
on a new motor, there isn't anyone I know of here in San Diego that does
diesels so finding someone to install will be the next thing ...
you might be hearing injector rattle. i will post a vid of my truck here. watch the vid and when i pop the hood really listen and see if your engine sounds like mine does. mine has ALMOST 300,000 miles and the heads have never been off of the truck. the injectors are a little newer and are actually from a super duty, but they are split shots now. i would bet your just hearing injector rattle though. here is the vid--- CLICK HERE FOR VID
Now, what leads you to think your valves are messed up? around 250,000-300,000 is the point where our intake valves will kinda mess up a little bit but i know they will last longer. it all depends on how you drive it really. describe your problems here and we can get you up and running a lot cheaper than a new engine. these trucks are easier to work on than you think they are. you just might need a little encouragment like i did. i used to think i could never change these injectors or the HPOP and now i'm not scared to pull the engine and do a full build to get it over 500hp!! LoL.
we haven't gotten an update, but my thought being the injector noise is b/c when your engine is at say 2000 rpms driving down the road or at free rev and you let of the go pedal the injector solenoids stop firing i'm pretty sure, thus you get NO injector noise on idle down or when going down a hill and your off the gas. now once it gets to idle or you touch the gas you get the clicking sounds of the injectors again all of a sudden. so thats just the thoughts in my head here..
