Are all of these questions because you did the V mod only? You really want to go with a hyper-expensive air system just so you can tow?

You have many brothers and sisters here in the forum who tow with both stock and upgraded suspensions. Ask their advice.

no offense but if i want to drop 10 grand in my truck it is my business

i intend to drive this truck another 15 years or more, i LIKE my 7.3 and want to keep both of them, it is not a huge deal to invest some money in it

none of these kinds of post do me or really anyone else any good as far as gaining knowledge

i NEVER said i could not tow
i probably hauled a 10, 000 lb trailer 10, 000 miles this year with this ex, with the stock set up and air bags

my truck was handling/riding better with a trailer hooked up with wd than unloaded

but it is still not as solid as i think it can be
i put a lot of miles on my truck and trailer and want it to be safe and i want it to ride very comfortably and i was due for suspension overhaul because i was worn out

the air systems ar supposed to eliminate spring wrap and give a lot of adjustability in ride, towing, body sway, etc
it overall sounds like a better system
everyone is different and ride matters a lot to me, i spend a minimum of 40,000 miles in this truck a year

yes plenty of people are happy with their set ups and that is great, and i do have the option of just dropping on some b codes and may do that, but again overall the air bag system sounds better to me

i need to drive some to decide if this is what i want

i really dont have time to answer posts about how stupid i am for considering putting 5000-10,000 in my truck, it does not help me at all, it waste my time and everyone elses as far as i am concerned

but thanks for your opinion

Yikes, I had to re-read my response to see where I had called you stupid.

What I was trying to find out was what was going on with your ride as you have three different posts asking the same question. It is difficult to address an issue without all the information. I thought by providing details in your inquiry you could gain the benefit of the tribal knowledge. In responding to me you actually provided some missing data.

You are right, you can spend ten grand on your truck, or any amount that you want. You have that right. And the right to be short, if you so choose.

And I wasn't offended.

Wow, anyway. Not to cause any problems since I don't have either setup you were questioning but I do have the firestone bags (as I think you do) and I haul a 33' 12000 lbs (loaded) trailer around constantly. We average about 75,000 mile a year and she drives very straight and comfortable down the road. I have no reason or unrest that makes me feel that it is not a safe and secure setup. Sorry you are having problems (if you are) and I hope that you are fruitful on finding your information that you requested.

sorry to be short, i am sure everyone is not following all the posts i have put on there the past week or 2, a lot of this was explained

and several people have implied i am nuts to put a kelderman set up in my truck becuase it cost so much, so i spend more time defending an expensive set up that i just wanted reviews and info on than i do getting any actual info
sorry i took it out on you

where i messed up was doing on the front v mod and not doing the rears becuase we were hoping the air bags/radius rods would be enough to handle the back end

but all these mods aside, just looking into the air bag mods it seems they would be a better set up
and at this point i do not like how the front end rides at all, yes this could be becuase if the dual bilsteins and the 400lb bumper may fix it also, will know that sat

it just seems a lot of the "normal" problems people have with these trucks are "supposed" to be eliminated with the springs gone and air in its place

but until i get a lot of good reviews from people who have actually done these sets ups it is hard to know

a shop here in phx has done some and they feel that it is top of the line and supposedly all their customers are happy with them
i am working on trying to drive one of those trucks
so we will see

I am right with you cvincent.

It would be nice to just find out from people that have tried the air system all the way around.

After doing the v/f code spring swap myself, it rides like the front end is on hydraulics with every bump. The stock suspension was much stiffer/harsher of a ride which I like better, now knowing the alternative. I know you already know this but just so everyone else can see.

I am definitely going to go the 05 coil over setup and hope for the best. I will get a tighter turning radius, better ride, bigger brakes, and a tougher front axle.

Hopefully there is someone on the forum that has done the air ride all the way around that can chime in but I haven't ever seen any one talk about it so we'll find out.

You are talking the non lifted version, correct?
