Hey all, haven't posted on here in a while, but still check in from time to time. Well here lately I've been hearing a faint rattle coming from driver side front only when I accelerate heavy and going up hill underload and I know it's not hub or actuator going out since I changed both sides last winter, so I got to looking and luckily found a pin hole in vacuum line going into actuator on driver side. I guess losing that vacuum while accelerating my actuator didn't know whether to engage 4X4 or not hence the noise. Got some duck tape and wrapped tightly around line to cover hole and waa laa noise is GONE!!!! Just wondering if any of you experienced anything like this and just wonder how long my fix everything duck tape will last until I have to move to my next solution gorilla glue.
I patched a hole in mine with some rather stiff, cheap, clear tube that I located at Lowe's for about 30 cents. I cut the line at the leak, put a small dab of rtv on the ford lines and slipped them into the clear tube. it was a near perfect (tight) fit. I could see that the rtv was not plugging anything. a week later I found a collection of small vinyl or plastic vac nipples and T's at Autozone so I cut my 30 cent fix back out and replaced it with a $2 nipple.
