What about your RRE 2010? Jody will already be there and I could see if he could do at least 1 truck the first 2 days of the event.(For a steak dinner of course.) Definitely would make for some interesting campfire discussions.

what exactly is CP testing. i know what live tuning is but have never heard of CP. what does it do or get accomplished.

Cylinder Pressure Testing.

Our equipment actually does a complete engine analysis of your motor. Much more involved then just CP testing. Calling it CP testing is how most people in the industry relate to it. Engine Analysis Tuning is more of what we call it, but not many relate to it being called that.

Great question!

This is a question I can only answer part of. I will have Jody compose a complete list of points he will be monitoring.

To give you a summary here is a link to the webiste of the equipment we purchased. It is equipment can used on any high performance engine so you'll have to wade through the gas infomation, but its all the same when it comes to monitoring the engine.

Very interesting. Are there known CP thresholds to avoid, or are we in the learning process on this? How big a variation can be expected between 2 trucks with similar mods, but maybe some slightly worn rings, or some other issue? Just wondering if reasonable assumptions on CP could be made based on certain mods & tunes like we make guesses at HP.

The learning curve is huge. Immensely valuable data. Jody and I have had this system since May of 2005. A thread that was started in early 2005 on TDS about "All these Blewn motors" was the reason we bought the EA Equipment in the first place. Jody was starting to get a lot of people in 2005 calling on him to tune their modified trucks and he wanted to make sure what he was doing was safe based on some observations by many who had been in the industry for a long time. Jody set out to make sure he was prepared for what our customers asked him to do for their modifications. Not many have wanted it done due to the price, unfortunately. The system is very expensive. We certainly can't do the testing for free, but lowering the price in this ecomomy was a no brainer. A few have had it done. The system lived on Jody's truck for over a year for him to build tunes based on his analysis.
